Healthy Green Detox Juice Recipe

Hey health nuts. Welcome to 2017, a brand new year. Which means we get to kind of reset our diet. I hate seeing the word ‘diet,’ but reset our eating habits, because I know they’ve probably gone a little bit haywire over the holiday season. So I have detox recipes to share with you all month long. And these are recipes that you can really eat all year long. I just thought it would be great to compile them all into one month so you guys can start the year off on a really great note.

And basically, my inspiration for this was just using real foods and things that are full of vibrant colors, and they’re really gonna help detoxify your body and make you feel really, really good for 2017. So for today’s video, we are kicking things off with my five-minute green detox juice. This is a juice I have been making now for months. If you guys follow me on Snapchat, then you know I’ve been making this juice for quite some time now.

I’ve been juicing for quite a few years, but doing this specific method has made things super easy. And I find that I’m juicing more often, because I know there’s not five hours worth of cleanup, okay that was exaggerating. There’s not 30 minutes of cleanup after I’m done juicing. So I really have been enjoying this method. I hope you guys do too, especially if you’re a beginner at juicing. This is a great way to get into it. So let’s just hop right in, and I will show you guys how to make it.

You will need romaine lettuce, kale, cucumber, I always like to peel mine if it’s nonorganic, celery, ginger, lemon juice, apple, and some spirulina powder just for an extra detox boost. I’ll link the one I use down below. Next you wanna throw in everything into a high-speed blender. I like starting with the juicier fruits and veggies, like the cucumber and the celery, and then just throw everything else in there, making sure to pack in those greens right on top. [light music] Pop the lid on and blend until smooth. You just want to keep blending it until you get a nice pulpy mixture that’s going to be really easy just to strain afterwards. And then this is what it should look like. Next, grab a large bowl and then you’ll want something to strain your juice through. I’m using this nut milk bag that I’ve had for years now, it’s very loved and stained from many turmeric and green juices.

I will link the one that I have down below. Like I said, this one has lasted me years. You can also use a cheesecloth, which you can find almost everywhere and it’s really inexpensive. Basically, you’re going to pour your juice pulp into your nut milk bag and then just squeeze out all of the juice. This part is always kind of funny looking, but it literally takes just a couple of minutes, and then you have awesome fresh juice. [light music] And then you’re ready to serve. You can serve this over ice, if you like it extra chilled, or just at room temperature. And it’s just the perfect thing, straight out of the blender, nice and fresh.

This is the perfect amount to either share with a couple of friends, or just drink a very large glass to yourself.
