Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga is a style of yoga discipline with techniques that use body, mind, and spirit to balance the body and mind.
The seven chakras in the body are an important part of the kundalini yoga exercise. The spiritual energy this technique creates in the body is called kundalini. Kundalini is also a form of energy called all prana (life force), which is currently lying Too many people it is known as the coiled serpent, however, some disagree with this interpretation [kundalini means that which is coiled, in Sanskrit kunda means to coil or to spiral]. The energy is situated at the bottom of the spine, and is awakened when these spiritual practices are activated. Kundalini yoga practice: Kundalini yoga style has lots of positions and postures, and also includes movement and sound, working with the breath, and quite a lot of concentration. Yoga exercise should not be seen as just gymnastic exercises. When practicing kundalini yoga you should focus on the breath and movements of energy through the chakra system. Starting by stimulating energy at the base or root chakra and moving upwards through the higher chakras. There are seven chakras or energy centers in the body, these start at the bottom of spine and go to the top of the head. However, kundalini yoga has an eighth chakra which is known as the aura which surrounds the body and can be strengthened through the use of the kundalini yoga exercise. Simply put, kundalini yoga tries to awaken energy which is located within the spine by opening the interrelated channels between the seven chakras of the body. This style of yoga is often known as "yoga of awareness", because it opens the kundalini energy, thereby releasing a potential that is within all of us. The belief of most yogis is that when this energy is raised within the body it activates and stimulates the higher centers "chakras" of the body, creating mental clarity, creativity, and heightened intuition or psychic ability. For a time this yoga exercise was considered dangerous by the ruling parties in India and therefore had to be practiced secretly. The practices and knowledge on how to do the kundalini yoga style was passed on from Master to student after a long initiation process, which was designed to reveal the level of commitment, a student had. |
