Alternative solar power is getting a lot of attention these days. The world is reaching for alternative sources due to oil shortage and contribution to greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Solar energy as a resource has been around for several decades but recently interest has grown along with the seriousness of global warming and high oil prices. Alternative solar power has great potential as a major energy resource. Coal petroleum-based fuel and nuclear energy are not renewable and each of them contributes to pollution. Coal and gas energy production are putting enormous amounts of carbon into our atmosphere. These pollutants are the main cause of global warming. Neither of these fuels is renewable. Petroleum is fast running out. Nuclear power plants produce radioactive waste which is then stored in our earth. Considering these factors, solar power advantages are obvious. Other forms of renewable alternative energies come from hydrogen, wind and earth. Hydroelectric plants have been in use for some time but are too expensive and land-altering to incorporate on a large scale. The cost of hydrogen production is extreme. Wind energy is a promising form of alternative power. Windmill farms have been around for quite some time and more are being built every year. Some families have already built windmills to produce electricity for their homes. The use of these giant turbines is controversial because of the effect on the view of the landscape and sky. Right now, solar panels and towers are being used for solar power electricity production. If people really want to change how we treat our planet, they will have to get used to the inconvenience of some visual changes in the landscape. Solar power electricity has the chance of becoming a major source of our earth's energy. The advantages of solar power are that it does not run out and it is pure. There are absolutely no pollutants made in the production of solar energy. Countries all over the world have begun to incorporate solar power electricity. Germany leads the way in promoting the use of solar panels to gather the sun's energy and produce electricity. In India, they are working on a solar energy plant that is claimed to be the biggest in the world. In the U.S., alternative solar power is being researched to find ways of storing solar energy and scientists are looking for methods of building solar panels without the high cost. Homeowners are being offered tax breaks for the installation of solar panels on the homes to offset the tremendous cost of the installation. While alternative solar power is not yet available to everyone due to the high cost of solar panels, researchers are busily looking for ways of reducing the cost. Across the world, countries are getting behind the idea of alternative solar power. Some governments are developing programs to encourage the use of solar power electricity. The United States provides for tax breaks and rebates when citizens use alternative sources of energy and alternative solar power is one of the qualifying elements. Those who can afford to power their homes with solar energy are seeing large reductions in their energy bills and payments from the government for their contribution to clean air. It may take a few years to make up the cost, but many see it as a means of doing their part to aid in the reduction of carbons. Even with the restriction of needing full sun to produce solar power electricity, reducing the cost of solar panels is worth it to make this source of energy available to everyone on the planet. We humans are notorious for achieving our goals when we make ideas top priorities. With innovation and determination, the production and use of solar power electricity will be worth the work we put into it Alternative solar power is getting a lot of attention these days.
