If you watch the news lately, then you don't get very happy most days. Economically we are getting worse and worse, prizes for fuel and energy have never fluctuated more, and the environment is paying the price (as always). Don't you think now is about the best time there is to start saving big on electricity and heating?
If you watch the news lately, then you don't get very happy most days. Economically we are getting worse and worse, prizes for fuel and energy have never fluctuated more, and the environment is paying the price (as always). Don't you think now is about the best time there is to start saving big on electricity and heating? Maybe you don't realize it, but there are a few different ways you could achieve that goal. Today I will be talking about one of my favorites because of its ease and efficiency: DIY solar power. If you can harness the free and infinite power of sunlight, you can immensely reduce your cost of living, or even earn money! Solar power can be used in an almost infinite number of ways, in and around your home or your company. A great thing about solar power systems is that they are very diverse. Let me give you just a few examples of things you could use DIY solar power for, instead of the expensive, non-renewable electricity that you are using right now. - Hot water / warming system for the floor of your home. - Washing cars or motorcycles (This normally uses loads of energy). - Electricity and heating for cottages, second homes or cabins. - Passive solar air heating. - Garden/landscape/path/home lighting. - Power all possible electric appliances in and around your home. - Need hot water for your Company Activities? Water heating for industrial and/or commercial purposes. - Domestic hot water heating. - Pool heating (indoor/outdoor). - Lighting your parking lot or your private street. - If you want, you can apply polar power to service a construction site. For instance, think about communication equipment, computers, all kinds of tools). - Heating a hot tub or your very own spa. - Use a portable solar power device to charge your portable electronics. - Of course warming up shower water uses a lot of energy. If you do it the "solar way" you can cheaply heat shower water for hotels or apartments. - Powering your security system and/or the lighting for your motion sensor equipment. As you can see there are loads of ways you can use a solar power system yourself to save money and at the same time save the environment. Now how would you go about getting one installed? Of course you could go and buy yourself a solar power system, they start at around $3000. But you can just as easy (and way cheaper) build a solar power system yourself! If you choose to build your own system, then you will need a proper manual that explains every step you have to take in detail. I personally prefer the one at DIYSolarPower.Net because of the level of detail they go into, and because they keep their instructions simple and clear so they can also be applied by beginners. If you are interested in other ways to generate green energy, then you can also have a look at their course: it is very broad, covering all aspects of green energy that you can generate from your own home or garden, (For instance wind power) and ways to store that energy.
