Eating hard to digest foods.

Even if we look healthy and strong, its still possible we are not getting plenty of adequate nutrition. Its easy to improve the state of our health by merely knowing what nutrition we require and not choosing hard to digest foods. Nutrition is about the amount food do we need, its function, and the

basic materials we need for our body in order for us to have the energy to live our daily lives. By having the knowledge about how to look after of our bodies through good nutrition, we can maintain a high performance in life instead of being constantly sick and unable perform because of the low energy levels.

When we have our meals, it is very important to know that we should not mix raw food with cooked food, because this will produce acid in the stomach. The acid does not mix very well with the raw food and will create indigestion. Another thing to think about is when eating raw food like fruit and vegetables, we should always try to buy organic foods, because to the levels of pesticides that are present on the non-organic foods.

Foods from different categories if mixed together can cause an imbalance in the body. For example, when we eat a meal that is high in both fats and simple carbohydrates, we can become tired and exhausted and an unclear confused state of mind. The reason for this is that our tissue is not getting enough oxygen.

Carbohydrates are both simple and complex:

  1. 1.. Simple carbohydrates should be totally eliminated.
  2. 2.. While complex ones are very beneficial for us.

Fresh fruits and vegetables help create elimination while vitamin D in milk and cheese counter this. When we confuse our bodies by sending mixed messages to it because of our lack of knowledge about its nutrition requirements, it causes disorder and disease.

When we go for longer periods of time in between meals, the body can become more active and more alert because its not using energy digesting food. It is believed that three hours or more is adequate between meals before another meal should be eaten, however this time could be longer if you have eaten hard to digest foods.

We've all heard the old adage "You are what you eat," well learning more about food combinations and nutrition will actually prove this to be true.

We've had this information since the 1930s. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught us that we are to eat one meal, once every 24 hours with nothing in between. It's true the longer you go without eating between meals the loner we live.
