Two feng shui tips you should apply today.

Maybe you are someone who is interested in the ancient art of feng shui, an art that has been practiced by the Chinese for thousands of years. Some people advise you to hire a feng shui consultant to check out your home and give you a reading on where the positive and negative areas are in the rooms of your house. However, with some simple feng shui tips that you can apply yourself it is probable you will not require a feng shui consultant. There are some good books about feng shui that will show you how to create positive energy and remote negative energy.

Feng shui tip one:

It is probably fair to say, one of the most important feng shui tips is to begin de-cluttering your environment and life. One of the biggest energy drainer's is too much clutter in your home. Stuff like broken appliances and equipment that you will probably never get around to fixing, old clothes, old files, and old photographs are all reminders of unfinished projects, and issues that have not been dealt with and can be very mentally and emotionally draining.

The de-cluttering feng shui tips can also apply to large items like furniture, motorcycle and car parts. If you have too many pieces of furniture like chairs in your living room, your could ask yourself the question, why. The same goes for a garage that is cluttered with car bits and pieces that have no value or use to you. If you answer to these questions is, "just in case," then get rid of them because you know these are just clutter.

Feng shui tip two:

Try to be aware of all the colors that surround you in everyday life, in your home and also in your place of work, and try to understand how color effects your emotion and mood. For example, one of the best feng shui tips for increasing your energy is to use bold and bright colors in the rooms you use most before going out for the day. When you are wanting to relax in rooms like your living room and bedroom use warmer colors like greens and browns.

However, there is a need to be cautious when applying these particular feng shui tips. Some people think that if a little bit feels good then more has to be better. Unfortunately, this is not true, and to much of a bright color can leave you feeling anxious and tense. Also too much of a dark color can make you feel depressed and depleted energetically and emotionally. It's probably a good idea to take a step back from the room you are decorating, and consider toning down the color or even go for something that is neutral.

It is often a good idea to let your feelings and intuition guide you.
