How to Make Ethanol

Desperate to know how to produce ethanol at home, need to know what adjustments to make for carburettor aspirated engine.

just a kid with the want to make a type of alcohol gasoline with the algae in a lake by one of his parents' houses. i have actually been thinking over how i might create my own small bioplant and make some ethanol/alcohol gas/E85/etc..... i am still looking for something to show how to test and create a fermentation process for the algae type that i have access to.

I would think that you would consider soyabeans to make ethanol /biodiesal. An article in Harrowsmith magasine in the 70's had a gentleman who was making his own with a still. He was using a diesal Volvo and noted that he was making it cheaper than gas at that time. I like the idea of doing an electric car conversion and using a wind/pv array to generate the juice. Or we could follow the 'flinstones' model 8>)


Soyabeans fix nitrogen and would be complementary in a rotation. Another thought is steam, The stanley steamer and modern steam cars can provide a lot of power.
Algea can be created by sequestering carbon. Which is what they could/ should be doing with coal fired plants. Bubbling the C02 in water will cause algea to grow, that can be harvested and made into ethanol. That ethanol could then be burned in a diesal engine to drive a generator to charge the batteries in your e.v.
