Page 3 of 3 No.13 Untitled This article sounds like anti-ethanol propaganda, probably put out there by oil companies. Like the mechanic said, bigger injectors and improved fuel system, plus extra degrees BTDC on the timing. The lies about EPA restrictions are silly - ethanol burns MUCH CLEANER than gasoline by far.

When it is going on ethanol, it runs great, and the injectors get a good cleaning. I feel good that I am buying an American product, helping out farmers, and not creating more pollution. We are accustomed to carbon monoxide, my car smells like corn instead. The E-85 octaine is 105, our gasoline supply is so poor now, we need the 10% added to bring up the octaine. To convert a car you must have a tank that does not have lead, (most vehicles 1980, or later). The vehicle must have fuel injection, with an injector for each cylinder. The fuel line needs a sensor to detect the fuel mix (usually in the tank for a Flex Fuel from the auto manufactuer), and the computer to reset the timing, which is done by the converter. Do an internet search, plenty of them are out there. I saw a good price today on an E-bay store. If your car is getting poorer mileage than it used to check the plentum gasket, they shrink and cause a bad idle mix. I believe this is where we are all headed, so we can use these gasoline engines. If we keep our money here, the economy will improve! Good Luck to All

Submitted by Guest User, • 2009-01-28 19:06:28 No.16 Untitled although its just now recently making mainstream, I and many of my friends have been using ethanol (e-98) in drag racing, it allows for a denser charge in the cylinder and helps the engine run alot cooler. It also promotes a very large horsepower gain on almost any engine. I was doing it before it was cool.lol.
